Horizon RC-30 Recumbent Bike Review

It is usually considered a clear and undeniable rule that exercise machines that are priced much under $1,000 are junk and not worth using. In the last decade cheaper models have been made better and good models have become more affordable.

Horizon Fitness RC30 is quiet, quite stable, comfortable and functions well enough for most casual users to enjoy this machine as much as they would a machine with a priced several times more than this machine.

Rare among exercise bikes commonly available for $400, the RC-30 has a good clutch on the fly-wheel which allows it to spin independently of the pedals should you change speed and stop pedaling suddenly. The seat is also actually comfortable to sit in, one of the key requirements of a good recumbent.

Performs Like A Machine Twice Its Price

With such quiet and smooth operation this model makes many customers wonder why there are other recumbent bikes priced at 800% of what what you can purchase a RC-30 for.

A solid performer which has a lot of casual fitness machine users bringing an exercise bike into the house for the first time in their lives.

With only 8 programs the RC-30 is not the most “loaded machine on the market, that is for sure, but the programs the RC-30 does have are practical and enjoyable. With heart rate programs as well as stepped up workouts, the programs are designed to help users maintain optimum heart rate, burn calories, and build strength.

The programs, more than anything else, are easy to follow and are accessible to individuals new to using workout computers.

Biking is a great low impact workout for individuals with joint and back pain. This machine is an inexpensive solution for individuals with pain that precludes most other exercise but need to all the same.

Obviously this machine is not the top of the line and comes without every luxury, it is a $400 machine, what can you expect. The warranty is good for the machines price range but not long enough to instill a strong sense of confidence in the quality of the machine.

The RC30’s 10 pound fly wheel is much lighter than its competitors, this tends to mean, as is true in this case, the machine with the lighter fly wheel is not as smooth as its competitors.

And, my preference is to have as many quality programs in a machine as possible so the 8 programs in this machine do not overly excite.

Yet, inspite of its flaws this is the best fit for a lot people looking for their first exercise bike.

Horizon Fitness RC-30 MonitorExercise Bike Enjoyable Enough To Own

As I have hinted to earlier, this is not the best exercise bike in the world.

As far as value is concerned, however, I believe this machine is loaded. With a warranty good enough to justify its price tag and functionality which is far superior to what most people would expect out of a machine with such a low price.

The RC-30 is not recommended for individuals looking to have the best features or begin serious training during the off-season, but it is a great machine for individuals who are having a hard time justifying buying an exercise bike because of cost.

This bike is a great way to get and stay fit at home without breaking the bank.
